The FlashForge Creator Pro and Dreamer are two great printers. If you’ve decided that you want to go with a FlashForge printer, but aren’t sure which one will fit your needs better, keep reading. I’ll be comparing the two FlashForge models below, and highlighting some important features they share.

Flashforge Creator vs Dreamer 3D printers
Common Features between the Creator Pro & Dreamer

The FlashForge Creator Pro and Dreamer 3D printers have many great features in common, including dual extrusion, and compatibility with both ABS and PLA filament. They both, also, come with one spool of ABS and on spool of PLA filament to get you started on your first prints, right out of the box.

With either of these two printers you can look forward to printing your designs onto an aviation-level, 6.3 mm aluminum plate, which will provide a surface that is completely flat and will not suffer from warping due to heat exposure, which can occur with other surface types, over time.

The FlashForge printers also features metal frame structures and 10 mm guide rods, which work to ensure precise z-axis movement and prevent wear of the movement components.

Creator Pro vs Dreamer Printer Construction

The exterior of the Creator Pro is covered by black panels and a transparent, acrylic front window pane and top enclosure, which help maintain constant temperatures within the printing environment and prevent deformation of ABS prints.

Flashforge Dreamer 3D Printer

The Dreamer also features temperature insulation for stability during the printing process. For this, FlashForge equipped the Dreamer with a high-end plastic-alloy body with a removable top panel and semi-translucent front door panel.

Printing Platform & Specification

The Creator Pro aslo features integrated LED lights to illuminate the printing area for enhanced viewing, and an LCD button panel for on board navigation and control.

The Creator Pro has a build volume of about 300 cubic inches divided as dimensions of 8.9 x 5.7 x 5.9 inches, and can print with resolutions from 100 to 300 microns.

Onboard navigation and control for the Dreamer is accomplished through its 3.5” HD IPS touchscreen display.

The Dreamer has a build volume of about 295 cubic inches divided as dimensions of 9.1 x 5.9 x 5.5 inches, and can print with a resolution between 100 and 200 microns

Creator Pro & Dreamer Connectivity

With the Creator Pro, printing may be accomplished via a USB connection from a computer to the printer, or wirelessly by introducing printing instructions through the use of an SD card.

With the Dreamer you can still introduce your designs through the use of an SD card and use a direct USB connection, but have the added ease of transferring data via wi-fi connectivity.

Creator Pro or Dreamer

At this point, you probably have a better idea of which printer will work best for you, but consider this. The Creator features an open source design, which makes it better suited for tinkerers who will want to modify the printer, whereas the Dreamers features a closed design, which comes optimized and ready to use, out of the box, which is great for beginners.
